Mission ‘Connect Ballet and Society’
Star Dancers Ballet was founded in 1965 following a successful performance produced by SDB founder Ruriko Tachikawa, where famous dancers from Japanese ballet companies joined and performed under the direction of a great choreographer Antony Tudor.
With the aim to provide ballets to as wide audience in Japan as possible, SDB has been creating original ballets including ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘Ballet Dragon Quest’ while performing world-renowned works by choreographers such as Sir Peter Wright, George Balanchine and William Forsythe.
Star Dancers Ballet School offers high quality ballet classes to wide range of students from children to adults. Junior Company established in 2015 provides talented young dancers with training by experienced teachers and company dancers for both classical and contemporary ballets.
SDB is also committed to the realization of inclusive society where everyone can enjoy dance. We engage people with and without disability, young and old, through our educational and regional activities.
Through our prominent performances, ballet education and engagement activities, we connect ballet and the society, enriching the cultural life of our community and Japan.
Join us and let’s open the door to the ballet world.
